New Schedule Coming in January

You must complete the following steps to become an LA County Resource (Foster/Adoptive) Parent:

1. Attend an Orientation sponsored by The Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and Community Care Licensing (CCL). To register, please call 888-811-1121.

2. Now that your DCFS orientation is complete, the next step is to get a free Live-Scan through DCFS by contacting Fidelle Garcia at (213) 351-0290 at DCFS to arrange a visit to a DCFS office.

3. Finally, enroll for PS-MAPP Training consisting of 33 hours of classes during six consecutive weeks. An additional 3 hours are set aside to assist you with completion of the licensing application. The start dates and cities/areas of the PS-MAPP series, through November 2015, are on the reverse side of the flyer. Series are held at local community colleges and community based organizations. The address of the series location will be provided to you when you complete enrollment. There must be a minimum of 20 participants to start a series.

Please bring your original Orientation Certificate and two copies for your file. Your original certificate will be returned to you. Again, thank you for taking the time to make a difference in a child’s life!

Once you have completed the steps above, please click the link below to register to attend a PS-MAPP Training. You are ready to enroll!
